Recent Stats :)

Ky had her 18 month check-up yesterday and she is growing wonderfully! She now weighs in at 24 pounds 4 ounces (50%), 32.5 inches in length (73%), and her head circumference is somewhere in the 80%. She HATED the scale with a passion and screamed when we tried to get an accurate measurement. She actually did really well with the shots and had to get 3 of them, poor baby. We deferred a few in lieu of the H1N1 vaccine, so we are good to go!! Mommy and daddy can breathe easier when it comes to that nasty bug :) As always we are sending out our love to the loyal followers!!

So in love...

...with this face! I know I tend to be biased, but this little girl is so AMAZING! Daddy had to work overtime last night, and this is the wonderful magic I had all night long. She was SO happy, and goofy! She did stay up until 10 o'clock, which for her was a little, um, different. Oh well, she was perfectly happy the entire time :)

Happy Halloween!

Indeed it was a happy one! We had SO much fun taking Ky trick-or-treating for the first time in Carmel Mission Fields, where I grew up trick-or-treating! We took her to about 15 houses and she was REALLY into it by the end. Once she discovered that sweet, sticky, yummy candy was involved in the end, she liked it a whole lot more.

She is ever-changing these days and is saying so much. She is communicating so much and she tries, and mostly succeeds in copying the words we say to her. She will say: meow (when asked what a cat says), m00 (for a cow), up, down, mama, dada, ball, moon, go, this, what is this?, no, ya (for yes), and dog. She still uses sign language for more, as well. Ultimately, she understands EVERYTHING we ask her and can easily discern between a question and a statement.

I am so excited she is trying her best at communicating as she gets really frustrated when she can't tell us what she needs/wants. That really doesn't bother me as I can only imagine how difficult it must be to know what you want, but not be able to get your point across!

Enjoy the pictures I included of the princess!

It all happens so fast...

...growing up that is! Our little one is now a little girl, not a baby. She is running, climbing, stacking, sorting, and all kinds of fun stuff. She is still not talking a whole lot, so we are holding out that it will be any day now! :) She does say: mama, dada, daddy, Elmo, no, ya, meow (for cats), kitty, nana (for banana), this, that, and then of course there is the ever present "uh" for anything she wants. She also uses signs for "more" and "milk." We also get lots of head nods for yes which are totally adorable and over exaggerated! She is communicating, but not really stringing words together yet, we are patiently waiting though!

She now weighs 23.2 pounds and is about 31 inches long. Her hair is finally really growing, and it is getting nice and shaggy. She is such a little goofball and loves to dance. She does this cute little run in place when she gets excited and will "twirl" in circles when she dances or is just being plain silly! We have been exploring all of the fun attractions in the Sacramento are for kids. We have been to the zoo, Fairytale Town, and Funderland over the past few weeks. We have had lots of fun and Ky just can't get enough of the other kids running around everywhere :)

I can't think of anything else to share, so enjoy the pictures!

Long overdue!!!

Well, even though it is summer, I have found myself busier that ever! Miss Ky is now 14 months old and just went in to the Dr. for a check-up yesterday. She is now 22 lbs. (50th percentile), and 30.5 inches (60th percentile). She is walking, running, and CLIMBING everywhere! She loves to babble and understand everything we say to her. My new favorite is how one of us will tell her to get a specific book off of her shelf to read and she will run down the hall to her room and get the exact book we told her to!

I start school next week and then it is back to the grindstone. A little bittersweet, but ultimately I am excited to go back and teach the same thing for the second year in a row.

I have included a few pictures from the past few months that are my favorite. :)

My BIG girl is ONE!

I am at a loss of words because I cannot believe we have a one year old! We have been very busy traveling to Tennessee, Carmel (for her first birthday beach bash), and now enjoying summer break. I have so many pictures so enjoy!!!

The first slide show is from the Tennessee trip and the second is her 1st birthday party :)

Oh yes, and Lance PROPOSED to me right after her birthday party at the beach, it was perfect and we cannot WAIT to get married!
